My name’s Diego. I’m 14 and I’m from a city in the north of Mexico called Chihuahua. It’s a very big place so there’s a lot for people to do. In the centre, you can see some beautiful old buildings in traditional designs. And we have nice places to eat and drink, and go shopping. I’m one of three kids. I have a brother and a sister but they are both at university in Mexico City. My dad works in a hospital and my mum’s a teacher. When I’m not at school, I like hanging out with my friends, playing sport and cooking! I think I’d like to be a chef one day. What about you?

Eva's Dream Job

    Eva, who is 13 years old, is very popular at school.  She's really friendly with people, and she has many friends.  She also likes spending her free time with animals, especially with horses.

    Eva has dreamt of becoming a vet for horses since she was nine years old.  Now she wants to make her dream come true.   She's good at Biology, Maths and Science and she's studying quite hard  because she wants to make her dream come true.  She's also helps with young children at a local riding school.  

    I think Eva will succeed in getting her job.   I'm sure she'll get into university and make her favourite sport her dream job.  In ten years time, she will be working as a horse vet, looking after the animals she loves so much.

Mount Olympus National Park

The Mount Olympus National Park is on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia.  Mount Olympus has 52 peaks.  The highest one is called Mytikas and it is 2917,72 metres high.  

Plants and Animals 

Mount Olympus has very many different plants and animals.  It has got oak trees, pine trees and beeches.  It has got 23 local plants and the most famous is the Campanula oreadum.  In Ancient Greece there were lions.  Now, there are brown bears, deer, wild boar and the red squirrel.  

Activities

You can go hiking and climbing in the Park.  No hunting is allowed and only very good climbers can go to the top.  You can stay at one of the six  mountain refuges.

A Nightmare

At the beginning, I was feeling really tired because I had been to school and been horseriding.  I was at home so, I decided to go to my bedroom and take a nap.     

The next thing I knew, I was having a nightmare.  I saw my boyfriend cheating on me with my best friend, with who we have been friends for five years.  Soon, I was having an argument with both of them.  They tried to hide the truth but this wasn't possible.  Suddenly, I was yelling at both of them and I woke up sweaty.  

Next day, I told my boyfriend and he said that he would never have done such a thing.  I believed his words since he is a nice boy.  Then we went to our favourite cafe and listened to the DJ playing the latest hits.  

In the end, I realised that it was only a horrible dream and not the truth.  The cafe's door opened and my best friend, Nadia entered holding an unknown boy's hand.  She came over to us and introduced her boyfriend.  "This is Stephanos."  Immediately, I felt really foolish and realised that my fears were  only part of my imagination.

The Vikos Gorge

The Vikos Gorge is in Epirus.  It is very beautiful and very deep.  It's 1350 metres deep and 32 kilometres long.  It is also very old, between 20,000 and 30,000 years old.  

Plants and animals

The most famous plant is the very popular Greek "Mountain Tea" and the most important local animal is the Chamois goat-antelope.

Things to Do

You can go hiking from the village of Monodendri to the springs of Voidomatis river.   You can also hike to the villages of Papingo and Vikos or go towards the 18th century stone bridges near Kipi village.
